Ingredients and spices that need to be Make ready to make Pakodi curry:
- For pakodis
- Handful soaked moong dal
- 1 cup besan
- 1/2 cup rice flour
- to taste Salt
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1/4 tsp ajwain
- 1 pinch baking soda
- 1 tsp oil (warm)
- as required Oil for frying
- For curry
- 30 ml oil
- as required Whole spice mixture
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 onion (small) chopped
- 1 tomato (chopped)
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- to taste Salt
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder (adjust as required)
- 1 tsp curry powder
- 1/4 tsp garam masala
- as per required Fried pakodis
- 2 potatoes (diced)
- as required Chopped coriander
- as required Hot water
Steps to make to make Pakodi curry
- In a mixing bowl, put besan, rice flour, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, ajwain, baking soda. Add water and mix to make a lump free thick batter. Then add the soaked moong dal and warm oil. Mix all well.
Put small pakodis into medium hot oil and fry till golden brown and crispy.
Drain and take out.
Keep aside. - Next heat kadhai with oil. Put khada masala, cumin seeds and chopped onion. Saute till brownish. Next add ginger garlic paste and saute till rawness is lost.
Next add the diced potatoes. Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and curry powder. Mix all ingredients well. - Cook for some time. Next add chopped tomato. Mix well, cover and continue cooking.
As potatoes are cooked and tomato is mushy, add chopped coriander leaves. Mix. Next add hot water. Adjust consistency as per your preference. - Cook all, till each ingredient of the gravy combine well with one another. Mash some potatoes to make the gravy thick.
Next into the potato gravy, add the fried pakodis. Add water to adjust consistency. Add chopped coriander leaves and garam masala. Bring everything to a boil. As you get that perfect consistency, switch the flame off.
Give a gentle mix.
Pakodi curry is ready!!
